Twitter Javascript “Auto-Reweet” Bug

Today, Twitters from all over the world became subject to a gastly exploitation of a security bug in Twitter’s coding. Users were tweeting various javascript codes that were sending automatically generated direct messages to their follows. Those with huge amount of followers on Twitter will often follow people without knowing them. This means that they were more likely to suffer the consequences of this giant hack, and unfortunately the “virus” has spread quickly this way.

Tweeters who follow these hackers have unexpectedly retweeted links to various pornographic sites, and other suspicious pages.

Twitter has yet to release an official report on the bug and it’s solutions, but we sure hope that it will be sorted out soon.
